Funding of a match of a big brother or big sister to a child who would benefit from a caring adult, within their programme.
Rotary club of Nelson initiated this programme in Nelson in 1997 in partnership with the Police. This has now grown nationally though Nelson remains the largest centre. Rotary members have been involved on the board and/or involved as mentors in the programmes since its inception. The Board has also been chaired by Rotarians for most of the last 24 years with two of our members accorded “life membership” for their contribution.
